In Depth
Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
LOLER places duties on people and companies who own, operate, or have control over lifting equipment. The Regulations apply to all lifting equipment used at work, including cranes, hoists, lifts, and lifting accessories.
LOLER is the primary legislative framework governing lifting operations in the UK and forms the basis of international best practice adopted across the GCC and globally. The Appointed Person role is a direct requirement of LOLER Regulation 8.
